Bio
Having dedicated twenty years to clinical medicine, I am deeply drawn to the role of the endocrine system in maintaining the body’s homeostasis, and I care about helping people truly understand the changes in their body and mind.
These days I spend my time reading, researching and writing. I’m drawn to the molecular realm and to the invisible workings the eye cannot see.
Research
Witnessing the emergence of new diabetic medications from bench to bedside convinced me that basic science, though demanding, carries profound clinical impact. That conviction eventually led me to pursue doctoral research. My research interest lies in molecular endocrinology: the hidden pathways beneath the clinical picture. I work with techniques including qPCR, ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, western blot and immunohistochemistry, and have started learning dataset analysis.

Clinical
Twenty years in clinical medicine and endocrinology. The work I treasured most was walking alongside patients through the course of their illness, whether long or short. Empowering patients was simply the point. I know I tried my best along the way, though I was not always good enough. Over the years I also taught medical students and contributed to intern training and preparation of specialist examinations.
Teaching & knowledge dissemination
Alongside my clinical work, teaching has been a constant thread, from bedside tutorials and specialist nurse training to public lectures on common endocrine conditions. I have given invited talks at meetings, contributed to continuing medical education programmes and written for healthcare publications. This site is a modest extension of that same instinct: making things a little more navigable for anyone willing to read.
